I would like to be able to create a virtual drive, so that I do not need to lug the original DVDs or CDs with me. I have a couple of games and a data DVD for Rosetta Stone, that I would like to somehow install in a virtual drive, so that I needn´t carry the medium with me all the time. They can get damaged or lost, plus it is a hassle. Any ideas?????

There's a decent chance you could simply copy the discs over to folders on your hard drive assuming that the discs are not copy protected. The alternative, which is more along the lines of what you are asking, would be to create images of the discs using Disk Utility. I haven't tried it much with modern games but you can read more about just that situation here. Apparently some users are having better success with Toast.
